The Birth of Jesus
This mural was painted in the Abbey Church in the Beuronese style of religious art, developed at the Abbey of Beuron in Germany during the 19th century. Mary and Joseph kneel in humble adoration. The angels’ banner reads: Gloria in excelsis Deo et [in terra] pax hominibus, “Glory to God in the highest, and peace to His people” (Luke 2:14).
